Shareholder, Board Member
Terry Engel is a shareholder and member of the Board of Managers for The Laundry Chute. Mr. Engel began his career as an airline industry professional concentrating on air cargo handling, aircraft charter, aircraft maintenance and related services. In July of 1986, after working at a number of air cargo forwarders and airlines, Mr. Engel started Aerolink International, Inc. which he grew into a leading airline servicing company. Aerolink would go on to operate in thirteen cities across North America and employ over 350 people, providing outsourcing in cargo, mail and maintenance services for 20+ airlines at the peak of the business, including USAirways (Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Charlotte) and British Airways (Pittsburgh, Denver, Atlanta).
Since retiring in 1999, Mr. Engel has been actively involved with many startups in varying capacities. Mr. Engel has also started, or been involved with, a handful of restaurants in the Pittsburgh, PA and Raleigh, NC areas.
Mr. Engel began his career in airline services right out of high school, and did not pursue an undergraduate degree. Mr. Engel is a graduate of Pittsburgh’s South Hills Catholic (Seton LaSalle) High School, and lives with his wife Laura in Sewickley, PA where he is a proud father of four children, and grandfather to four grandchildren.
